Allen E. Romaine

Allen E. Romaine, 86, was born on October 12, 1931, and went home to be with his Lord on August 28, 2018, at home, with his family beside him. Allen was the son of Eugene Romaine and Goldia Hood. Allen married his high school sweetheart, Anne Melton Romaine, on October 16, 1949. To this union two children were born who both survive: David (Julia) Romaine and Pamela (Dale) Thatcher. Also surviving are 4 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. In Heaven Allen will meet 2 other great grandchildren who already went to be with Jesus. Allen also has one surviving sister, Sandra (Fred) Wybenga. Allen was known affectionately as “PaPa” by his grandchildren and “Pops” by his great grandchildren. His greatest gift to his family and friends was his witness of a Christian life. His love of Jesus will be a legacy to all who knew him. He believed in the strength of family, and, with his wife of 68 years, provided a firm foundation for his family based upon the Word of God. His love for the Lord inspired his faithfulness to his church throughout his life. He was a remarkable Bible teacher for many years and left an impact on many lives. He loved to travel and see our beautiful country…a proof a God’s creation. Allen also gave 35 loyal years of service to the Ohio Bell Telephone Company where he was the foreman over 4 offices. Calling hours will be Sunday, September 2, 2018, from 2:00 to 4:00 at Willis Funeral Home in Gallipolis. The funeral will be on Monday, September 3, 2018, at 11:00 at Faith Baptist Church, Bidwell, with Rev. Jim Lusher conducting the service and Allen’s son, David, doing the eulogy.
