Amanda Gail (Wothe) Shamblin

July 20, 1985 — October 19, 2025

Gallipolis, Ohio

Amanda (Wothe) Shamblin, 40, of Gallipolis, Ohio, passed away peacefully at her home on October 19, 2025.

Born on July 20, 1985, in Gallipolis, Ohio, Amanda Gail (Wothe) Shamblin was the beloved daughter of Donald and Pamela Wothe. She grew up surrounded by family and love, sharing a close bond with her siblings: Alexis Wothe (Jed Tomblin), Adrian Gilbert (Cory), and Aaron Wothe (Brittany).

Amanda was a devoted wife to Bray Shamblin of 22 years (married September 27, 2003) and a proud, loving mother to her five children: Emma Karshner (Haden), Kennedy, Lincoln, Olive, and Henry Shamblin. Her family was the center of her world; and she poured her heart into raising her children with joy, strength, and unwavering support.

She is survived by them all in addition to her maternal grandmother, Shirley Miller; father and mother-in-law, Dwight and Terry Shamblin; brother-in-law, and Chad (Rain) Shamblin, in addition to several nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.

Amanda graduated from Gallia Academy High School in 2003. Attending college, she earned an Associate of Applied Business and an Associate of Arts in Communication at Rio Grande Community College in 2006. She continued at the University of Rio Grande (OH) and earned a Bachelor of Science in Communications in 2008. Amanda worked at the University of Rio Grande from 2006 to 2012 serving in various roles up to and including being an Admissions Representative before being led to serve in the home by raising her children until they were ready for school. From 2021 to 2025, Amanda worked in the role of Preschool Aide at Hannan Trace Elementary School in the Gallia County Local School District, where her kindness and warmth left a lasting impact on students and staff alike.

She had a vibrant personality and an eye for fashion. So much so that she was a nationally recognized social media influencer/model for several clothing and accessory brands. Amanda had a beautiful way with words and would often blog and document life’s events through her posts. She loved all things fun and colorful, and her presence lit up every room she entered. Her laughter, creativity, and deep compassion touched many lives in her community; and she will be remembered for her ability to make others feel seen, heard, and loved.

Amanda was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Donald and Margaret Wothe, and her maternal grandfather, Earl Jack Miller.

She leaves behind a legacy of love, joy, and strength that will live on in the hearts of everyone who knew her.

Amanda's life will be honored on Friday, October 24, 2025, at Gallipolis Christian Church where the viewing will be from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and the service beginning at 1:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Calvary Baptist Cemetery in Rio Grande, Ohio.

Pallbearers for the service will be Lincoln Shamblin, Haden Karshner, Aaron Wothe, James Sheets, Chad Shamblin, Hudson Shamblin, and Hunter Shamblin.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations for future education be made to the Savings Accounts of Lincoln Shamblin, Olive Shamblin, and Henry Shamblin at Peoples Bank, 349 Third Avenue, Gallipolis, OH 45631.
