Barbara Sue Halfhill, 76, of Gallipolis, Ohio was called home to Heaven to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus on Sunday, April 12, 2026 at O'Bleness Hospital in Athens, Ohio.

Sue was born on February 20, 1950 in Louisa, Kentucky, daughter of the late Claude Childers and Eunice Preston Fitchpatrick. Sue retired from Holzer Clinic purchasing department with 32 years of service. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Sue found great joy in attending church and when she wasn't there, she could often be found watching Christian programming on TV or listening to Christian music, especially the old hymns that brought her comfort and joy. She loved spending time on outings with her friends and family, and held those moments close to her heart.

Sue is survived by a son David (Angie) Long, Jr. of Gallipolis and a daughter Wendy (Marvin R. ) Baird of Gallipolis; five grandchildren, Savilla (Doug) Martin, Becca (Brian) Williams, Melissa (Mark) Still, Elijah Adam Baird, and Nathanael Luke Baird all of Gallipolis; a step-granddaughter Cassie Baird of Gallipolis; and 9 great-grandchildren; sisters, Mary Alice Priddy of Gallipolis, Thelma (Buddy) Ellis of Rutland, Carolyn (Chuck) Stewart of West Columbia, and Tara Dawn (Ritchie) Blankenship of Albany; brothers Leonard Fitchpatrick of Middleport, Floyd Fitchpatrick of Rutland, Russell Fitchpatrick of Middleport, Darvin (Angie) Fitchpatrick of Pomeroy, and Charlie (Billie) Fitchpatrick of Middleport; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by sisters, Daryl Faye Warren, Rachael Fitchpatrick, and Mary Lynn Fitchpatrick.

The funeral service for Barbara Sue Halfhill will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 15, 2026 at Willis Funeral Home with Pastor Randy Carnes officiating. Her burial will follow in Mound Hill Cemetery. Friends and family may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 11:00 am- until the time of the service. Pallbearers will be David Long, Marvin Baird, Elijah Baird, Nate Baird, Colton Williams, and Mark Still.
