Beatrice O. Barker

Beatrice O. Barker, 68, of Patriot, passed away on Sunday, April 1, 2007 at her residence. She was born on August 21, 1938 in Gallia County, Ohio to the late Hobart and Florence Rees Wickline. Beatrice was married to Albert P. Barker and he preceded her in death in 1980. She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, a trustee at Ebenezer Church where she also had served as secretary and treasurer, and was a member of Ohio Eastern Star, Chapter 283. She graduated from Gallia Academy High School in 1956 and was a Holzer School of Nursing graduate in 1960. Surviving are four sons, Hobart A. Jenell Barker of Midland, Michigan, James A. Tammy Barker and Paul F. Barker, both of Gallipolis, and Charles R. Barker of Rio Grande; four daughters, Catherine S. Charles Sexton, Mary L. Harley Vaughn, Rebecca L. Worthy Stover, all of Patriot and Jean A. Barker of Gallipolis; 23 grandchildren; one great grandchild. In addition to her parents and her husband, Albert Barker, Beatrice was preceded in death by one son, John A. Barker. Services will be 2 p.m., Wednesday, April 4, 2007 at the Willis Funeral Home with Pastor Ron Bynum officiating. Burial will follow in Mound Hill Cemetery.
