Bert Edward Mcguire

Bert Edward McGuire, 91, Vinton, Ohio passed away on Saturday, July 28, 2012 at the Arbors at Gallipolis. Bert was born on March 9, 1921 in Gallia County, son of the late Perry and Eliza Folden McGuire. He was a farmer and avid gardener, loving to raise a large garden. On October 27, 1984 in he was awarded from the O.O. McIntyre Park District the Great Pumpkin Award for having grown the largest pumpkin. Bert was married to Rozella Mae Myers McGuire and she preceded him in death, along with sons Bert, Jr., in infancy, Charles McGuire, and a grandson Richie McGuire. He was also preceded in death by his sisters, Pearl, Emma, Rosie, and his brothers, Jesse, John, Luther, Hollis, and Samuel. He is survived by his children Eugene (Helen) McGuire, Chester (Judy) McGuire, William (Roberta) McGuire, Linda Miller all of Gallipolis, Janet (Beldon) Storms of Vinton, Tim (Dineena) Trout of South Point, and Marie (Vernon) Hall of Columbus. Many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren survive as well as many nieces and nephews. Special friends are Alice Gothard, Garnet and Bill Chapman of Gallipolis. Services will be 2 pm Wednesday, August 1, 2012 at Willis Funeral Home with Jane Ann Miller officiating. Burial will follow in the Patriot Cemetery. Friends may call from noon until the time of services on Wednesday.
