Betty Leona Crouse

Betty Leona Crouse, 88, of Gallipolis, Ohio passed away on Saturday, February 11, 2017 at Walnut Creek Nursing Home in Kettering, Ohio. She was born on July 30, 1928 in Guyandotte, West Virginia, daughter of the late Brady and Belva Martin Angel. Betty was a teacher and an elementary school principal in the Mason County Schools in West Virginia. She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Gallipolis and a member of Delta Kappa Gamma. Betty is survived by a son, Jim of Gallipolis, two daughters, Marilyn (Roger) Evans of Brookville, Ohio and Kathy (Mark) Souders of Centerville, Ohio; three grandchildren, Todd (Kirsten) Evans, Scott (Kerri) Evans, and Leah (Nick) Bergman; five great grandchildren, Grace, Cole, Claire, Andrew Evans, and Carson Bergman; brothers, Junior Angel and Roger (Vickie) Angel; sisters, Josephine (Irwin) Gibson, Irene (Basil) Holley, Dorothy (Don) Perkins, Barb Chambers, Lucy Bray, and Pauline (Mike) Jeffers; sisters-in-law, Audrey Angel, Juanita Angell, and Lynn Angel; brother-in-law, Lowen Cline Saunders; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, a special friend and father of her children, Francis Crouse, her brothers, Donald Angel, Bill Angell, James Angel, Ralph Angel, Shirley Angel, a sister Audrey Saunders and a brother in infancy, Ernest Eugene Angel. Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, February 16, 2017 at Willis Funeral Home with Pastor Bill Thomas officiating. Burial will follow in the Ohio Valley Memory Gardens. Friends may call on Wednesday, February 15, 2017 at Willis Funeral Home from 5:00-7:00 pm. In lieu of flowers please consider a donation in Betty’s memory to the Scholarship Fund of the Mason County Association of Retired School Teachers.
