Betty J. Finney, 93, of Gallipolis, Ohio passed away on Friday, June 21, 2024 at Holzer Senior Care. Betty was born on December 17, 1930 in Gallipolis, Ohio, daughter of the late Earl and Mary Lewis Davis.
Betty was a retired school teacher at Green Elementary and Buckeye Hills Career Center. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and Order of the Eastern Star Gallipolis Chapter #283.
Betty was married to John Finney for 69 years, and he preceded her in death in 2019. She was also preceded in death by one brother, Floyd Davis; a son-in- law, Gary Fisher; and a sister-in-law, Rosaliend Reid. Betty is survived by one daughter, Sharon "Sherry" Fisher of Bidwell, Ohio; one son, Randall Finney (Cindy Staley) of Gallipolis, Ohio; four grandchildren, Lindsay (Chris) Stout of Bidwell, Nick (Mindi) Fisher of Hilliard, RJ (Kelli) Finney of Gallipolis, and David Finney of Dublin; five great grandchildren, Caleb Stout, Kennedy Fisher, Carmen Fisher, Lilyanna Delgado, and Natalya Finney; one great great grandchild, Khelani Wills; one sister-in-law, Betty Davis of Sarasota, Florida; and several nieces and nephews.
An Eastern Star Service and a Funeral Service for Betty will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 27, 2024 at Willis Funeral Home with Pastor Heath Jenkins officiating the funeral service. Her burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Rio Grande, Ohio. Friends may call prior to the service from noon until the time of the service.
