Betty Palmer Hemphill

October 16, 1931 — February 18, 2011

Betty Palmer Hemphill, 79, of Northup, went home to be with her Savior on Thursday, February 17, 2011 at her residence. She was born October 16, 1931 in Gallia County, daughter of the late Donald F. and Ruth E. Rathburn Palmer. Betty was married to Mason Lee Hemphill, who preceded her in death on August 2, 1993. She was a 1949 Bidwell-Porter High School graduate. She was employed at Gallipolis Clinic and later Holzer Clinic as a medical secretary. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Eno Grange #2080, Pomona, State, and National Grange and volunteered as the clerk-treasurer of Providence Cemetery. Betty enjoyed her family and her grandsons activities. Betty is survived by her three daughters, Susan L. (Roger) Greer of Eno, Kemberlee K. (Bob) Hood of Gallipolis, Cristi R. Hemphill of Northup and son, Michael L. (Charlene) Hemphill of Bidwell; five grandsons, Matthew Lee Hemphill, Cody Harrison Greer, Alex Lane Greer, Samuel Lee Hemphill, and Marshall Palmer Hood; sister, Sue (Charles) Murray of Gallipolis; sisters-in-law, Adele Roberts of Crown City, Alice (Jerry) Molnar of Crown City, Connie Hemphill of Cape Coral, Florida; several nieces and nephews. Services will be 1 p.m., Tuesday, February 22, 2011 at the Willis Funeral Home with Pastor Alvis Pollard and Bob Hood officiating. Burial will follow in Providence Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday, February 21, 2011 from 5-8 p.m. Pallbearers will be Matthew Hemphill, Cody Greer, Barney Molnar, Matt Roberts, David Murray and Bill Foster. Honorary pallbearers will be Harold Thompson and C.A.
