Betty Ellen Russell Cox, 60, of Vinton, went peacefully to be with the Lord on Wednesday, March 27, 2013 at 1:36 a.m. at the Holzer Medical Center, after a short bout with lung cancer. She was born April 22, 1952 in Gallipolis, daughter of the late Delbert Forrest and Betty Irene Lane Russell. Betty was widowed twice, first by Roger Wayne Taylor and then by Freddy Martin Cox on August 6, 2007. Surviving are her three children, Kiley (Loretta Wagoner) Taylor of Rio Grande, Chad (Marlena Schartiger) Taylor, of Rodney and Tiffany (Allen) Searls of Vinton; three stepchildren, Chad (Brenda Russell) Cox, Timothy Cox and Becky Ramey, all of Gallipolis; several grandchildren; one brother, Forrest “Ronnie” Russell of Gallipolis; a very special friend, Mary Ellen Bush of Gallipolis. In addition to Betty’s parents and her husbands, Roger Wayne Taylor and Freddy Martin Cox, she was preceded in death by her youngest son, Zane Tyson Taylor. Services will be 1:00 p.m., Saturday, March 30, 2013 at the Willis Funeral Home with Chaplain Fred Williams officiating. Burial will follow at Reynolds Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday, March 29, 2013 from 6-8 p.m. Pallbearers will be Chad Taylor, Kiley Taylor, Allen Searls, Chad Cox, Jay Haskins, Jeff Moss, Cyrus Haynes and Daniel Bush. Honorary Pallbearers will be Jim Searls and Ronald Russell.
