Betty Saxon

Betty Saxon, 71, of Cheshire, Ohio went home to be with her Lord on Wednesday, September 24, 2025.

Born on August 7, 1954 in Addison Township, Ohio, Betty was the daughter of the late Raymond and Carrie Hayman Saxon.

Betty was known for her quick wit and ability to make anyone laugh, a gift that brought smiles to every room she entered. A devoted Christian, she found great purpose in her church community at Poplar Ridge Freewill Baptist Church, where she poured her heart into fellowship and service. Caring for others came naturally to her, and she was at her happiest when tending to the needs of family, friends, and neighbors. When she wasn’t serving or telling a joke, Betty could be found in the bingo hall or her garden, where she took great pride in growing her vegetables and flowers. For 19 years, Betty worked at Holzer Medical Center in the laundry; she especially enjoyed her fellow workers.

Betty is survived by two sisters, Wanda Jordan and Leona “Sis” Harrison; a brother, Don (Becky) Saxon; and a sister-in-law, Sandee Saxon, as well as a host of extended family, friends, nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews. In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by four brothers, Ray Saxon, Ernie Saxon, Dan McQuaid, and David McQuaid.

Friends and family may be received from 11:00 a.m. until time of services at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 1, 2025 at Willis Funeral Home. Entombment will follow in Ohio Valley Memory Gardens Chapel of Hope Mausoleum.

Don Saxon, Joey Cremeens, Mike Saxon, Sam Sowards, Brian Blazer, and Brett Saxon will serve as pallbearers.
