Carolyn Lou Jeffers, 84, of Patriot, Ohio was called home June 25, 2017. Carolyn was born November 8, 1932 in Cadmus, Ohio at the home of her late parents, Daniel Wagoner and Mary Slagle Wagoner. She spent most of her life in Gallia County, only a stone’s throw from her childhood home. Carolyn graduated from Cadmus High School in 1950 and began working as a waitress at the original Bob Evans Steakhouse in Gallipolis, Ohio. She married Lowell Edward Jeffers, her husband of 65 years, on December 26, 1951. The couple raised two children on their family farm where Carolyn was a homemaker. She was also employed as a cook at Southwestern Elementary for several years. She was a member of Sandfork Baptist Church and attended Gallia Baptist Church. Carolyn loved watching and feeding the birds, attending to her flowers, gardening, and reading, as well as playing the piano, guitar and accordion. In addition to her parents, Carolyn was preceded in death by her two brothers, Vernon Wagoner and Daniel John Wagoner, and two sisters, Rosalie Carter and Marylene Iron. She is survived by her husband, Lowell Edward Jeffers; two children, Mark Alan (Trena) Jeffers of Bidwell, and Chris Ann (Jamie) Callihan of Patriot; two grandchildren, Lindsey Nicole (Steve) Roderick of Gallipolis, Ethan Reid Tawney of Chicago, Illinois; a sister, Carma Briggs of Patriot; two sisters-in-law, Helen Wagoner and Jenny Wagoner. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 1, 2017, at Gallia Baptist Church with Pastor Cline Rawlins officiating. Burial will follow in Gallia Baptist Cemetery. Visiting hours will be 5-8 p.m. Friday, June 30, 2017 at Willis Funeral Home. Pallbearers are Bill Ramsey, Brent Briggs, Jim Jeffers, Ethan Tawney, Jamie Callihan, and Steve Roderick. Honorary Pallbearer is Tuck Carter. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Gallia Baptist Church, 799 Wagoner Road, Patriot, Ohio 45658.
