Charles E. Markins, Jr., 93, of Canton, Ohio died on Saturday, October 14, 2006 at Green Meadows Nursing Home. He was born in Superior, Ohio on March 30, 1913. He was preceded in death by his father and mother Charles E. and Elizabeth Wilson Markins; two sisters Naoma Markins and Drusie Williams, one brother Carlson Markins; his wife Georgia Markins and a daughter Norma Curcio. He is survived by one son Lowell Karen Markins of South Carolina; two daughters, Wilda Gilbert and Sandra Ray Hackney both of Canton, Ohio; three sisters, Ruth Kerns of Florida, Mary Markins of Logan, WV, and Fran Sellards of Logan, WV, several grandchildren and great grandchildren and great great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He served in the Army during WW II. He spent most of his life in Canton, Ohio and Gallipolis, Ohio and his last four years in Canton. The family would like to thank the staff at Green Meadow’s Nursing Home for taking such good care of him. He will be sadly missed. Charles was laid to rest at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Pecks Mill, WV on Tuesday, October 17, 2006 with Rev. Bob Thomas officiating. Arrangements were in care of Willis Funeral Home Gallipolis, Ohio.
