Charles A. Queen, 88, of Crown City, passed away on Saturday, December 17, 2016 at Arbors of Gallipolis. He was born October 12, 1928 in Salt Rock, West Virginia, son of the late Perry and Nettie Cyfers Queen. Charles was married to Maxine Hazel Smithkey Queen and she preceded him in death. He was a U.S. Army veteran. He worked at M.T. Epling Sand and Gravel Company and retired from Chris Craft in Gallipolis. Charles preached at Macedonia Community Church, Big 4 and Dickey Chapel. His true love was hummingbird feeders for his wife and working with his bee hives. Surviving are his children, Iva Sue Casey of Bidwell, Linda Viddish of Sarasota, FL, Judy (Bob) Roher of Virginia Beach, VA, Sharon (Scott) Howell of Bidwell; one stepdaughter, Pam (Ervin) Hart of Leon, WV; grandchildren, Brad Casey, Christina (Bill) Brackett, Gabe (Laura) Davis, Michelle Burns, Margo Smith; several great grandchildren; sisters, Nancy Unroe of Columbus and Ruby (Dewey) Brewer of Atwater; brothers, Bill (Louise) Queen and Buddy (Patty) Queen of Canal Winchester. In addition to his parents, Charles was preceded in death by three children, Charles A. Queen, Timothy Brent Queen and Lisa Dawn Queen; two sons-in-law, Donald Casey and Gary Viddish; four brothers, Perry Jr., Bernie, Bob and Basil Queen; one sister, Erma Belle Sisson; two brothers-in-law, Herman Sisson and Emerson Unroe; and one sister-in-law, Garnet Queen. Services will be 1:00 p.m., Friday, December 23, 2016 at the Willis Funeral Home with Pastor Alfred Holley officiating. Burial will follow in Macedonia Cemetery. Friends may call from 12:00 – 1:00 p.m. prior to the service. There will be military graveside rites by the Gallia County Funeral Detail.
