Christopher (Chris) Alan Decker, age 43, of Gallipolis, Ohio, passed away on February 4, 2026, at St. Mary’s Hospital in Huntington, West Virginia.
Chris was born on August 15, 1982, in Tampa, Florida. He later made Gallipolis his home, where he graduated from Gallia Academy High School and was a proud member of the FFA. Chris was employed with Speedway convenience stores, where he was known for his dedication and friendly nature.
Chris had a deep love for spending time at the beach, where he found peace and enjoyment in the sun, sand, and ocean. Those who knew him will remember his easygoing spirit and the simple joys that made him happiest.
He is survived by his mother, Cathy Cather and her husband George Cather; his stepmother, Connie Decker; his father, Brian Decker, preceded him in death. He is also survived by his aunts, Sheree Skidmore (John) of Milton, West Virginia; Susan Haggerty of Ohio; Annice Erickson of Ohio; his uncles, Mike Myers of Gallipolis, Ohio; Mark Myers (Travis Aldrich) of Columbus, Ohio; Steve Myers (Sarah) of Gallipolis, Ohio; Bruce Decker of Ohio; and cousins, Jeremy Skidmore, Jason (Ashleigh) Skidmore, Kristin McFarland, and Jeff Myers. Chris is also lovingly remembered by his special friends, Alan Simpson and Chloe Preston.
A gathering of family and friends to celebrate the life of Chris will be held on Wednesday, February 18, 2026 at Willis Funeral Home, 12 Garfield Avenue, Gallipolis, Ohio 45631 from 1:30 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.
in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family to help with expenses.
