Clarence M. “Fuzzy” Myers, 91, of Gallipolis, passed away on Sunday, May 10, 2015 at Holzer Medical Center Emergency Room. He was born May 15, 1923 to the late Ensla and Gladys Miller Myers of the Gallia Community. Clarence was the 3rd of 8 children. He was married to Lemoyne “Leigh” Lewis Myers on June 3, 1950 and she survives him. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Michael, brothers, Herman, Dennis and Bill and a sister, Dottie Boggs. Clarence was a World War II Army veteran, where he served in a tank unit and did scouting. He fought on Utah Beach at Normandy, France during June of 1944 and earned a purple heart. He re-enlisted and served at a fire station in Ponce, Puerto Rico. He retired from Kaiser Aluminum Company in 1985 as a cell operator. He was a member of Faith Baptist Church serving as an usher, teacher, sound room operator and participated in volleyball. Clarence enjoyed witnessing to others about Christ, reading the Bible and books about the Bible, raising a garden and spending time with his family. Surviving are his loving wife of nearly 65 years, Lemoyne “Leigh” Myers of Gallipolis; two children, Joyce (Richard) Preston and Joseph Myers, all of Gallipolis; four grandchildren, Angel Myers, Matt Preston (Lori Huffman), Ashley (Nate) Kitzis, and Eric Myers; five great grandchildren, Ellen, Madison, Christian, Quinton and Addie; two sisters, Dorothy Stone of Phoenix, Arizona and Gayle Swinger of Columbus, Ohio; one brother, Carl Myers of Columbus, Ohio; sister-in-law, Juanita Myers of Columbus, Ohio; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Cedric (Helen) Lewis, Calvin (Beverly) Lewis, Jeanine (Estel) McCain, Sandy (Karl) McCain, Joe Duly, Barb Lewis and George Starcher. Services will be 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, May 13, 2015 at Faith Baptist Church with Pastor Jim Lusher and Pastor Jeff Reed officiating. Burial will follow in CM Cemetery, Oak Hill, Ohio. Friends may call at the Willis Funeral Home on Tuesday, May 12, 2015 from 5-8 p.m. There will be military services at the graveside by the Gallia County Funeral Detail. Pallbearers will be Nate Kitzis, Eric Myers, Matt Preston, Chris Lewis, Scott Lewis, Ken Kiger. Honorary pallbearers will be Harold Saunders, Leon Saunders, Allan Romaine, Chuck Thaxton, Lester McGraw, Lester Plymale, and Glenn Hatten.
