Claudetta Sayre, 62, of Bidwell, Ohio passed away on Friday, December 23, 2005 at her residence from an extended illness. She was born on January 29, 1943 in Switzer, West Virginia to the late Claud Charles Mason and Ella Marie Colley Mason. She enjoyed gardening, wood-working and her fish ponds. She had retired from AKZO-NOBEL where she was a secretary in the Lab; a former receptionist for the University of Rio Grande and had previously owned and operated a beauty salon in Gallipolis. Claudetta attended the Debbie Drive Chapel and was a 1961 Graduate of North Gallia High School. Surviving are, her husband, Lewis E. Sayre whom she married on September 21, 2003 in Gatlinburg, TN; a son Michael Christina McCreedy of Northup; a daughter Stacey Josh Buckenberger of Marysville, Ohio; two step sons Lewis Matthew Sayre and Michael Paul Kim Sayre, both of Mason County, West Virginia; two grandchildren, Jonas McCreedy and Skylar Sayre; a sister, Peggy Sue James Patterson of Bidwell; a brother, H. Dean Marilyn Mason of Gallipolis; a half sister, Vivian Blake of Gallipolis; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, and by a brother Douglas Macarthur Mason. Services will be noon on Tuesday, December 27, 2005 at the Chapel of Hope in the Ohio Valley Memory Gardens with Pastors Charles Hargraves and Marie Stewart officiating. Burial will follow in the Ohio Valley Memory Gardens. Friends may call on Tuesday, from 11 AM until the time of the services at the Chapel of Hope at the Ohio Valley Memory Gardens. Willis Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
