Darlene Alice Sheets, 95, went to her heavenly home on Thursday, March 16, 2006 at the home of her daughter Alice Gail Thompson with whom she made her home since April, 1996. She had lived on State Route 218 in Gallipolis for over forty-five years. Darlene was born on November 2, 1910 in Lawrence County, Ohio to the late Elijah Sylvester Williams and Lucretia Alice Henry Williams. Darlene was married to Brady Sheets on February 6, 1932 in Gallia County, Ohio and he preceded her in death on June 19, 1998. She was also preceded in death by her son-in-law Cline Thompson on March 30, 2000 and by four brothers, Sam, Bill, John and Clyde Williams, and by four sisters, Ruby Burcham, Eliza Wells, Ethel Williams, and Blanche Stevers. She was a member of Victory Baptist Church where she had taught children’s Sunday School for more than fifty years. Darlene was a kind, caring, and loving mother and grandmother of her daughter, Alice Gail Thompson of Grove City. OH; Granddaughter Cindy Guy Forsythe of Sedona, AZ; Great Granddaughter, Mindy Ronald Kohsman of Galena, OH; Great Grandson, Tyler Forsythe of Denver, CO. She is also survived by special nieces Donna William Shaw and Lona Mae Sager and nephews; special friends and care givers, Marie Kuhlman, Vickie Harvey and Dee Jones, and her favorite companion, “Sugar” a West Highland Terrier. Funeral services will be 2 PM Sunday, March 19, 2006 at Willis Funeral Home with Rev. Gary Warner officiating. Burial will follow in Ridgelawn Cemetery.
