David Gene 'Moochie' Mays, 61, of Vinton, passed away on Saturday, May 9, 2009 at the St. Mary's Medical Center, Huntington, West Virginia. He was born August 1, 1947 in Vinton, son of the late Williams Mays and Virginia Canada Dotson, who survives him. He married Susanna Stover on November 21, 1977 and she survives him also. Moochie attended North Gallia High School and served in Vietnam. He retired as a therapeutic program worker from the Gallipolis Developmental Center. Moochie loved fishing and was a Cincinnati Bengals fan. He also loved to cook out and hang out with his family. Surviving are his wife, Susanna Mays of Vinton; a son, Zachiriah David Jayson Mays and a daughter, Brandy Shulissa Courtney Brook Mays, both of Columbus; his mother, Virginia Dotson of Columbus; two sisters, Patricia Crawford of Illinois and Carol Mays of Columbus; and a brother, Warren Dotson of Chillicothe. In addition to his father, Williams Mays, he was preceded in death by a sister, Sharon Dotson. A Memorial Service will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, May 16, 2009 at the Willis Funeral Home with Rev.
