David L. Raynor, 66, of Gallipolis, Ohio passed away on Friday, April 23, 2010 at the Cabell-Huntington Hospital in Huntington, WV. He was born on July 7, 1943 in Huntington, WV son of the late Bill J. and Eloise Lykins Collins who survives in Proctorville, Ohio. David was employed at the Kyger Creek Power Plant in the maintenance department and was an avid farmer having the Raynor’s Peach Orchard. He was an Eagle Scout, served four years in the United States Air Force, and a member of First Baptist Church in Gallipolis, and a graduate of Fairland High School where his high school yearbook caption read “Nice and Quiet” and voted best dressed. David was a Christian and his desire was for everyone to have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. David married Barbara Ashworth Raynor on November 7, 1960 in Proctorville, Ohio and she survives him, along with three daughters Tracy Colin Saunders, Lee Ann Jeff Smith Raynor both of Gallipolis, and Heather Jacob Hall of Bidwell, a son David S. Raynor of Gallipolis, his mother Eloise Collins of Proctorville, grandchildren Ashley Brumfield, Zachery Brumfield, Caytlyn Tackett Hall, Andrew Hall, Izabella Hall, Garbriel Raynor, and Cameron Raynor, great grandchildren Jada Brumfield and Danny Brumfield, sisters Sally Ronald Carson of Clendenin, WV and Patricia Greg Crager of Proctorville, a brother Joe Collins of Proctorville. David was preceded in death by a daughter Shannon L. Raynor, a son-in-law Danny Brumfield, his father Bill J. Collins and a sister Sandy Chapman and a brother Danny Collins. Funeral services will be 1 pm Wednesday, April 28, 2010 at Willis Funeral Home with Pastor Joseph Godwin and Pastor Greg Scott officiating, burial will follow in the Ridgelawn Cemetery, Mercerville. Friends may call on Tuesday, April 27, 2010 from 6-9 pm at Willis Funeral Home. There will be full military rites given at the graveside by volunteers of area veteran’s lodges.
