Delores Sue Browning

Delores Sue Browning, 86, of Gallipolis, Ohio, passed away on Friday, August 7, 2026 at Holzer Medical Center. 

Sue was born on February 17, 1940 in Logan, West Virginia, daughter of the late Golden and Ethel Noe Copley. Sue and her husband Bert operated and managed several businesses, including the Kanauga Block Company and Sun Haven Tanning Salon, and managed several apartment complexes in our area. She enjoyed reading, doing puzzles, and karaoke. 

Sue was married to Bert Browning for 70 years; and he survives her along with a daughter, Brenda Thompson of Gallipolis and a son, Rex (Denise) Browning of Lexington, Ohio; three grandchildren, Chad (Samantha) Thompson of Marysville, Ohio, Josh (Diana) Browning of Lynden, Washington, and Samantha Browning of Park City, Utah; and two great-grandchildren, Chloe and Finn Thompson. In addition to her parents, Sue was preceded in death by a grandson, Jeremy Thompson; son-in-law, Bob Thompson; five brothers, Ernest, Truman, Wallace, Glen, and Leonard Copley; one sister; Violet Johnson; and two infant sisters, Vida and Edith Copley.

Sue brought a smile to everyone she spoke to and will be missed by many.

Services for Sue will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 11, 2026 at Willis Funeral. Her burial will follow in Ridgelawn Cemetery. Visitation will be held from noon until the time of the service on Tuesday at the funeral home.
