Delores Louise Chambers, 82, of Thurman, Ohio passed away on Wednesday, August 20, 2025 at Ohio State University Medical Center in Columbus, Ohio. Louise was born on January 24, 1943 in Letart, West Virginia, daughter of the late Lawrence Alford and Geraldine Joy Foreman Vanmeter.

Louise had worked at Kaiser Aluminum as a pipefitter and welder. She began her career of caring for others by earning an Associate of Applied Science Degree in Nursing from the University of Rio Grande and an Associate of Applied Science in Surgical Technology from Columbus State Community College. Louise retired from Lakin State Hospital in Mason County, West Virginia. She also was an avid knitter and enjoyed crocheting and golfing. She spent her peaceful years making apothecary items such as soaps and sachets, and enjoyed bird watching and reading. 

Louise is survived by one son, Harley A. Neal of Thurman, Ohio; three grandsons, Justin Edward Roush of Parkersburg, WV, Dylan James Roush of Marble Falls, TX, and Gregory Eugene Pullins of Cheshire, Ohio; and three great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Chambers on January 2, 2015; a daughter, Diana Lynn Neal Salser on January 19, 2012; and a brother, Larry Vanmeter on January 15, 2007.

In accordance with her wishes, there will not be any public visitation or funeral service.
