Dorothy L. Layne, 93, of Gallipolis, Ohio, passed away on Tuesday, June 16, 2026 at Holzer Senior Care. Dorothy was born on December 25, 1932 in Logan, West Virginia, daughter of the late Herbert and Vera Wineland Mason. Dorothy was retired from Holzer Medical Center.
In addition to her parents, Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, James W. Layne; daughter, Judith Wood; brother, Buddy Mason; and sister, Susan Mullins. Dorothy is survived by a son, Jim (Tammi) Layne of Marietta, Ohio; four grandchildren, Heather, Cheri, Travis, and Cassie; and several great-grandchildren.
Private family services will be held with burial in Ohio Valley Memory Gardens.
