Edwin L. Cofer, 87, Gallipolis, Ohio, passed away Saturday, January 14, 2006 at his residence, after an extended illness. He was born on July 25, 1918 in Gallia Co. son of the late William S. and Roma Martindill Cofer. He was a retired Die Setter for the Continental Can Co. of Pittsburgh PA. He was a World War II Army Veteran, Member of the VFW post 4464, American Legion post 27. He is survived by a daughter, Kathy John Haskins of Ironton, OH and three sons, William L Cofer of Gallipolis, Richard Mary Cofer and Edward Peggy Cofer both of Columbus, OH, and 9 Grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter Juanita I. Cofer and a son Kennard Cofer a sister Louise V. Haffelt. Services will be on Tuesday, January 17, 2006 at 1:00 pm at the Willis Funeral Home with Pastor Alfred Holley. Burial will follow in the Clay Chapel Cemetery. Friends may call at the Willis Funeral Home on Monday January 16, 2006 from 6 - 8 pm There will be full military rites performed at the graveside by veterans of area veterans lodges.
