Eileen S. Hammons, 82, of Bidwell, Ohio, went home to be with her Lord where she was met by her husband, Glen Hammons; father, Matthew Taylor; mother, Imogene Walk Taylor; and her brother Joe Taylor. Leaving behind to carry on God’s work are her children, Cheryl (David) Murray, Charlene (Mike) Hemphill, David (Wendy) Hammons, and Michael Hammons; grandchildren who love the Lord, Matthew Hemphill, Kindra Hammons, Tayler Bradbury Scott, Hannah Hammons Webb, J.T., Abby, Emma, and Gabe Hammons; great grandchildren, Renley, Layla and Lyla. Branch Wayt, Denise Hersman, and Mona Sprague are special people she claimed as her children.
On October 31, 1942, Eileen was born in Kanawha County, West Virginia. She worked as a nurse at various nursing homes and retired from the Gallipolis Developmental Center. She was a member of Rodney Church of Light. Eileen loved studying her Bible, hunting especially bow hunting, fishing at Lake Erie with the entire family as a second home, and flowers. Eileen planted a tree, bush, or flowers for everyone she loved and lost.
The funeral service for Eileen will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, October 13, 2025 at Willis Funeral Home with Pastor Todd Hines. Friends and family may call prior to the service on Monday from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Entombment will follow in Chapel of Hope Mausoleum at Ohio Valley Memory Gardens on Tuesday October 14, 2025 at 11: 00 a.m. Pallbearers will be J.T. Hammons, Gabe Hammons, Matthew Hemphill, Michael Scott, Matt Sprague and Jake Wayt. In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to the Rodney Church of Light Children’s Noisy Offering.
