Elbie Eugene "Gene" Burgess

Elbie Eugene “Gene” Burgess, 72, of Gallipolis, Ohio, passed away on Tuesday, April 8, 2025 at Abbyshire Place.

Born on November 27, 1952 in Cleveland, Ohio, Gene was the son of the late Rev. Noah and Judith Keith Burgess.  Gene married Carolyn Walker Burgess, who survives him in Gallipolis.  He was a member of Promised Land Church and had worked as a courier.

Gene is survived by his wife, Carolyn Burgess of Gallipolis; two daughters, Lisa and Laura; son, David; stepdaughter, Carisa; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Gene was preceded in death by a daughter, Deletta; stepson, Jeffery; and sisters, Linda and Sandy.

In accordance with Gene’s wishes, there will not be any services.
