Elva Jean Golden, 76, of Gallipolis, passed away on Thursday, May 27, 2010 at her daughter Vickie’s residence. She was born on February 5, 1934 in Huntington, West Virginia, daughter of the late James Curtis and Marie Scarberry Dailey. Elva married Gene Golden and he preceded her in death on September 21, 2009. Elva retired from Federal Mogul. She was a member of Faith Baptist Church and the Tea Party. Surviving are her four children, Teresa Fetty of Wilmington, Ohio, Vickie L. Tom Kern of Bidwell, Ohio, James S. Golden and Jeffrey L. Dixie Golden, both of Gallipolis, Ohio; six grandchildren, Matthew Fetty, Eric Fetty, Chris Maynard, Meghan Fetty, Jeffrey Golden, and Jared Golden; two great granddaughters, Katie and Kristen Maynard; one sister, Wanda Harmes of Tennessee. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Gene Golden, two sisters and a brother. Services will be 1:00 p.m., Saturday, May 29, 2010 at the Willis Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Centenary Cemetery. The children and grandchildren will be pallbearers.
