Emma Lee Martin

Emma Lee Martin, 90, of Gallipolis, passed away on Thursday, March 8, 2007 at her residence. She was born on September 1, 1916 in Gallia County, Ohio, daughter of the late Enos M. McGuire and Pearl Scarberry McGuire Puckett. Emma Lee was married to Leonard M. Martin on November 21, 1935 in Gallia County, Ohio. She was a 1935 graduate of Mercerville High School and was retired from Holzer Medical Center. She attended King’s Chapel Church. Surviving are three daughters, Phyllis Willis Wilcoxon and Retha Metz and friend Tommy Layton, all of Gallipolis, Opal Robert Gauselman of Nashville, Tennessee; three grandchildren, Glenna David Lockhart of Crown City, Brenda Rod Sexton of Gallipolis and Rebecca Rayburn of Cedar Lake, Indiana; six great grandchildren, Phillip Todd Sanders, Brett Sanders, Loren Rayburn, Michael Rayburn, Jessica Rayburn and Felicia Sexton; two sisters, Judy Berkley Saunders of Crown City and Faye Sanders of Gallipolis; a brother, Charlwood Margaret Puckett of Crown City; two sisters-in-law, Opal McGuire of Chesapeake and Thelma Puckett of Crown City; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Leonard Martin, one daughter, Elsie Saunders, one infant son, and two brothers, Enos F. McGuire and Studie Puckett. Services will be 1 p.m., Monday, March 12, 2007 at King’s Chapel Church with Rev. Berkley Saunders and Rev. Harold Benson officiating. Burial will follow in Ridgelawn Cemetery.
