Emmett N. Rossiter, 82, of Crown City, passed away on Monday, July 23, 2012 at the Holzer Medical Center after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born October 20, 1929 in Crown City, Ohio, son of the late Stanley L. and Lennie A. Boster Rossiter. He was a riverboat Captain for AEP, a member of Crown City Community Church and Crown City Masonic Ohio Valley Lodge #536. Surviving is the love of his life, Louise Shaw of Crown City, Ohio; children, Audette L. Gooch of Gallipolis, Ohio, Cindy R. (Justin) Miller of Columbus, Ohio, Timothy A. Rossiter of Salem, Virginia and Kevin T. (Mary) Rossiter of Las Vegas, Nevada; seven grandchildren; four great grandchildren; four brothers, Herman (Juanita) Rossiter of Crown City, Ohio, Richard Rossiter of Stow, Ohio, Paul (Sue) Rossiter and Farrell Rossiter, both of Crown City, Ohio; two sisters, Beatrice Rossiter of Crown City, Ohio and Faye (Bobby) Unroe of Gallipolis, Ohio. In addition to his parents, Emmett was preceded in death by his wife, Faye Rossiter and a sister, Zelma Wedemeyer. Services will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, July 28, 2012 at the Willis Funeral Home with Pastor Gary Warner officiating. Burial will follow in Crown City Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday, July 27, 2012 from 6-8 p.m. There will be a Masonic service at 8:00 p.m. Friday, July 27, 2012. Pallbearers will be Justin Miller, Chris Burnett, Terry Shaw, Dana Shaw, Monty Swain and Mike Rossiter.
