Everett Chapman, Jr., age 81, of Columbus and Gallia County passed away on November 17, 2005 at Riverside Hospital with his children at his side. Born December 31, 1923 in Ironton, Ohio to the late Everett Chapman, Sr. and the late Mina Hall Chapman, he was predeceased in July 2005 by his devoted wife of 63 years, Mary Florence Myers Chapman. A graduate of Ironton High School, he served in the U.S. Marine Corps in WWII, and was retired from the Ohio Bell Telephone Company. He is survived by his children Robert Laurie Chapman of Columbus, Everett Elaine Chapman of Pickerington, Ronald Barbara Chapman of Chesapeake, Virginia, and Sherena Jack Hayes of Columbus. He is also survived by his grandchildren: Andrea Chapman, Claire Chapman, Clark Chapman, Devon Christopher Uiterwyk, Elizabeth Chapman, Evan Hayes, Ian Chapman, Katherine Chapman, Mariel Hayes and Sean Chapman. Other survivors include his sister Barbara Ann Pennington of Ironton, Ohio, his brother Paul Anne Louise Chapman of Coal Grove, Ohio, his brother-in-law Merle Vernon Myers of Worthington, Kentucky, and many nieces and nephews. He was laid to rest in a private family service on November 20, 2005 at the Neal Family Cemetery, Mudsoc, Ohio.
