Frances G. Rose

Frances G. Aunt Sis Rose, 94, of the Mercerville Community, passed away on Saturday, February 25, 2006 at the Holzer Senior Care in Gallipolis, Ohio. She was born of August 15, 1911 in Gallia County, Ohio to the late John Henry and Cora Frances Sheets Greene. Frances was a graduate of Mercerville High School and Rio Grande College where she earned her teaching degree. She retired having taught 39 years teaching first grade mainly in the Circleville, Ohio School District; she attended the Community United Methodist Church in Circleville, and was a member at Elizabeth Chapel Church; a member of the Order of Eastern Star; and a member of the Hospital Guild. Frances is survived by one sister Dorothy Beaver Clagg of Gallipolis, and by several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Donald A. Rose on July 3, 1985, her parents, John Henry and Cora Frances Sheets Greene, and by three brothers, Lowell Greene, Oral Greene, and Woodford Greene, and by a sister Virginia Greene in infancy. Services will be 1 PM Wednesday, March 1, 2006 at Willis Funeral Home with Pastor Alfred Holley, Pastor Mark Beaver, and Pastor Daniel Beaver officiating. Burial will follow in Swan Creek Cemetery. Friends may call on Tuesday, February 28, 2006 from 6-8 PM at Willis Funeral Home. Her great-nephews will serve as her pallbearers.
