Frank Leon Queen, 68, of Gallipolis, passed away on Sunday, October 29, 2017 at Cornerstone of Huntington Hospital. He was born August 5, 1949 in Gallia County, son of the late Frank A. and Clara Jane Anderson Queen. Leon married Angela Beck on October 19, 1974 and she survives him. He was a retired truck driver and a U.S. Army veteran. He attended the First Church of God. Leon enjoyed the nursing home ministry, playing gospel music, old cars, camping and spending time with his grandchildren. Surviving are his wife, Angela Queen of Gallipolis; a daughter, Jennifer (Marlin) Griffin of Bidwell; a son, Jesse (Kristi) Queen of Gallipolis; grandchildren, Levi Queen, Carrissa Queen, Marquez Griffin, Asia Griffin, Bailee Queen and Jake Queen; a sister, Renita Layne of New Haven, WV; a brother, Terry (Trudy) Queen of Wellston; his mother-in-law, Doris Beck of Gallipolis; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Leon was preceded in death by a son, Leon Dean Queen, a sister, Brenda Denny, and his father-in-law, Les Beck. Services will be 2:00 p.m., Thursday, November 2, 2017 at the First Church of God with Pastor Paul Voss officiating. Burial will follow in Mina Chapel Cemetery. Friends may call at the church on Thursday, prior to the funeral from 12:00 – 2:00 p.m. There will be full military rites at the graveside by the Gallia County Funeral Detail.
