Frank L. Snedaker

Frank L. Snedaker, 86, of Gallipolis, passed away on Saturday, July 14, 2007 at Holzer Assisted Living. He was born on February 7, 1921 in Lucasville, Ohio to the late Peter F. and Ethel Rockwell Snedaker. Frank married Marjorie R. Kinker on November 19, 1943 in Piketon, Ohio and she survives him. He was a World War II Army Medic veteran, landing on Normandy Beach on D-Day and received the Bronze Star. He was the founder of the Shake Shoppe in 1951 and owner until 1983. Frank was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, a lifetime member of Elks Lodge #107, Past Exalted Ruler and Past District Deputy Grand Exalted Ruler, a member of Morning Dawn Lodge #7 for over 50 years, a member of the Shrine for 50 years and a Shrine 32 Degree, a member of VFW #4474, and a member of American Legion Post 27. Surviving are his wife, Marjorie Snedaker of Gallipolis; two sons, Steve Janet Snedaker of Gahanna and Jeff Vera Snedaker of Gallipolis; four grandchildren, Stephanie Snedaker of Columbus, Samuel Snedaker of Gahanna, Ryan Snedaker of Washington, DC and Tim Andrea Snedaker of Gallipolis; and a great granddaughter, Brittyn Snedaker. Frank was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and two sisters. According to Mr. Snedaker’s wishes there will be no services. Interment will be in Arlington National Cemetery, Washington, DC. Arrangements are by the Willis Funeral Home.
