George L. Duty, 64, of Patriot, Ohio passed away on Thursday, February 18, 2021 at O.S.U. Wexner Medical Center. George was born on September 1, 1956 in Williamson, West Virginia; he was the son of the late Arthur and Nancy Hall Duty. George had been a concrete truck driver for Cremeans Concrete, a farmer, and a floor installer. He had attended the Rio Grande Church of Christ. George is survived by his children, Candace (Jason) Moore of Gallipolis, George C. Duty (Amanda Fee) of Patriot, and Arthur Nathaniel "Andy" (Katelin) Duty of Gallipolis; six grandchildren, Madelyn Moore, Avalee Duty, Berklee Duty, D.J. Eisel, Daisy Eisel, and George Maximus Duty; four sisters, Patricia (Joe) Taylor of TN, Kathy (Daniel) Preston of Patriot, Nola "Snookie" (Jim) Carey of Surry, VA, and Gerry Gilman of Delbarton, WV; sister-in-law, LaNora Duty of Gallipolis; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, George was preceded in death by a brother, Arthur Douglas Duty and a sister, Lora M. "Tinker" Duty. The funeral service for George will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 24, 2021 at Willis Funeral Home with Minister Scott Judge officiating. His burial will follow in Duty Family Cemetery in Patriot. Friends may call on Tuesday, February 23, 2021 at Willis Funeral Home from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. Those in attendance are asked to follow the CDC guidelines of social distancing and are required to follow the Ohio mandate of wearing face masks.
