George R. Kent

George R. Kent, 78, of Cheshire, passed away on Wednesday, October 7, 2015 at Arbors of Gallipolis. He was born February 26, 1937 in Gallia County, son of the late Ross and Hazel Wilson Kent. George was married to Donna Reynolds Kent and she preceded him in death on February 10, 2010. He was a graduate of Cheshire High School, was in the U.S. Army, and was a former boat pilot for M.T. Epling. Surviving are his stepchildren, Kimberly Ann (Tim ) Holmes of Wichita Falls, Texas, Karen Sue Edgar and William E. “Buck” Reynolds, both of Bidwell; 7 grandchildren, Madison Holmes, Mitchell Holmes, Monica Helms, Josh Helms, Will Edgar, Isaiah Reynolds and Gracelyn Reynolds; one great grandchild, Baylee Shay Helms; two sisters, Jean E. Henson and Juanita E. Henson, both of Gallipolis; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and his wife, Donna Kent, George was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Esther Kent and a brother, Paul Kent. Services will be 2:00 p.m., Sunday, October 11, 2015 at the Willis Funeral Home with Pastor Steve Little officiating. Burial will follow in Gravel Hill Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 1-2 p.m. prior to the service.
