Gladys Brucker

Gladys Brucker, 100, of Gallipolis, Ohio passed away on Tuesday, February 13, 2007 at the Holzer Medical Center. She was born on October 24, 1906 in Clark County, Ohio to Martha Brown and John Albert Walter. She was a retired school teacher and principal in the Gallia County Local School System having served 22 years. She graduated from Gallia Academy High School and Rio Grande College. She was a member of the Elizabeth Chapel Church, Gallia County Senior Citizens, and had been a volunteer at several nursing homes. She was married to Herman G. Brucker and he preceded her in death in 1981. Also preceding her death were her parents, a son Jack D. Brucker in 1970, one sister, Sarah Halley; 6 brothers, Rev. C.A. Walter, Charles W. Walter, Harry “Bill” Walter, Frank B. Walter, Raymond E. Walter, and John Walter. Surviving is one daughter Wanda Guy Campbell, Jr., of Thurman, and one son Merrill L. Jane Ann Brucker of Mt. Gilead, OH; 6 grandchildren, Jim, Bill, Donna, Bob, John, and Jay; 9 great grandchildren Rob, Jamie, Rodney, Erica, Alison, Abby, Miranda, and Marissa, 2 great great grandchildren, Madison and Boston. Services will be 1:30 PM Friday, February 16, 2007 at Willis Funeral Home with Rev. Alfred Holley officiating. Burial will follow in St. Nick Cemetery.
