Gladys B. Sheets

Gladys B. Sheets, 83, of St. Petersburg, Florida, formerly of Gallipolis, Ohio, passed away on Monday, July 7, 2025 at Orlando Health Bayfront Hospital in St. Petersburg, Florida.

Born on June 4, 1942 in Gallia County, Ohio, Gladys was the daughter of the late William Farrell and Audrey G. McCall Johnson. On February 2, 1962, Gladys married George R. “Ron” Sheets in Rio Grande, Ohio; he preceded her in death on May 7, 2015 in Gallipolis, Ohio. Gladys was a bookkeeper/secretary at Holzer Medical Center, Dr. Dan C. Notter, DVM, mother and homemaker.

Gladys is survived by her son, George Donald “Don” Sheets of St. Petersburg, Florida; “Special Daughter” Kelly (Barry) Peters of Georgetown, Indiana and grandsons Christopher and Kyle Peters of Clarksville, Indiana; nephew, Mark (Connie) Johnson; and extended family members.

In addition to her parents and her husband Ron, Gladys was preceded in death by a son, George Ronald Sheets II; brother, William G. “George” Johnson, Sr.; and nephew, William G. “J.R.” Johnson.

The funeral service for Gladys will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 15, 2025 at Willis Funeral Home with Pastor Randy Carnes officiating. Her burial will follow in Ridgelawn Cemetery. Friends and family may call prior to the service Tuesday from 11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
