Goldy R. Skeens

Goldy R. Skeens, 89, of Gallipolis, passed away on Tuesday, May 18, 2010 at the Pleasant Valley Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Pt. Pleasant, WV. She was born January 22, 1921 in Kayford, WV, daughter of the late William Leonard and Rebecca Norton Yokum. Goldy was married to Charles William 'Charlie' Skeens for 67 years and he preceded her in death on January 17, 2004. She retired as a maid for the Chesapeake and Ohio Carferries in Ludington, Michigan. She was a member of the Debbie Drive Chapel. Surviving are her three children, Linda L. Zeller of Ludington, Michigan, Perry A. Elaine Skeens of Newport News, Virginia, and Wilma L. Tom Abrahamson of Gallipolis; ten grandchildren; several great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Goldy was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Charles William Skeens, two sons, Charles Delbert Skeen and William Leonard Skeens, and seven brothers and sisters. Services will be 1:00 p.m., Saturday, May 22, 2010 at the Willis Funeral Home with Pastor Keith Eblin officiating. Burial will follow in Centerpoint Cemetery.
