Grover Cleveland Long, 83, of Gallipolis, passed away on Sunday, October 8, 2006 at the Holzer Senior Care Center. He was born on June 12, 1923 in Gallia County, Ohio to the late Grant and Azile Cromley Long. Grover married Mary Waugh on June 19, 1944 and she survives him. He retired from Gallipolis Development Center after 37 years of service and did carpentry work. Grover was a member of Gallipolis First Church of God. He was a World War II Army veteran. Surviving is his wife, Mary Long of Gallipolis; three daughters, Penny Marlyn Haner, Denise Mike Null, Edith Mike Stout, all of Gallipolis; a daughter-in-law, Mable Long of Gallipolis; six grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; eight step grandchildren; two great step grandchildren; and one brother, Walter Ray Judy Long of Gallipolis. He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Richard Long on April 3, 2003 and one brother, Forest Long. Services will be 11 a.m., Thursday, October 12, 2006 at the Willis Funeral Home with Rev. Paul Voss officiating. Entombment will follow in Chapel of Hope Mausoleum, Ohio Valley Memory Gardens. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday, October 11, 2006 from 6-8 p.m. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
