Harland S. Wood

Harland Woody S. Wood, 74, of Gallipolis, passed away on Sunday, December 24, 2006 at the Holzer Medical Center Emergency Room. He was born on March 2, 1932 in Gallia County, Ohio to the late Nevin and Lenora Root Wood. He married Juanita Ice and she survives him. He was a member of Chapel Hill Church of Christ, where he served as a deacon until his health failed. Surviving him are his wife, Juanita Wood of Gallipolis; a son, Robert Sharon Wood of Gallipolis and a daughter, Mary Terrence Guy of Columbus; four grandchildren, Jacob, Nathan, Kelsi and Rachael Wood; several foster children that were raised in the home; and a sister, Helen Elva Lowder of Kettering. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Thomas Eugene Wood, two sisters, Joann Miller and Eileen Lowder and two infant sisters. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 30, 2006 at 11 a.m. at the Chapel Hill Church of Christ with Minister Danny Douglas officiating. Burial will be in Old Pine Cemetery at the convenience of the family. As per Woody's request, his body has been donated to the OSU School of Medicine for research on Parkinson's Disease. Box 90755, Houston, TX 77290 this organization has placed Bibles in Russia and Russian schools for 45 years.
