Harold L. Thaxton

Harold L. Thaxton, 65, of Bidwell, passed away on Tuesday, September 20, 2016 at Heartland of Jackson. He was born September 13, 1951 in Pt. Pleasant, West Virginia, son of the late Harold E. Thaxton and Marie Stutler Thaxton, who survives him. Harold was married to Deanna Thaxton and she survives him. He worked for 40 ½ years with the UMWA as a miner and was a member of UMWA Locals #1886 and #1638. Surviving are his wife, Deanna Thaxton of Bidwell; children, Tommy Nathan Thaxton of Columbus, Dexter James Thaxton of Bridgeport, Ohio, Kyla Nicole (Kyle) Bryant of Vinton; three grandchildren, Tyler Thaxton, Kaleb Thaxton, Alexis Thaxton; his mother, Marie Thaxton of Pt. Pleasant, WV; and a sister Kathy (Tom) Miller of Letart, WV. Services will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, September 24, 2016 at the Willis Funeral Home with Pastor Randy Carnes officiating. Burial will follow in Ohio Valley Memory Gardens. Friends may call from 5:00-8:00 p.m., Friday, September 23, 2016 at the funeral home and from 10:00-11:00 a.m. Saturday prior to the service. Pallbearers will be Dexter Thaxton, Gary Mitchell, Kyle Bryant, Tommy Thaxton, Tyler Thaxton, and Kaleb Thaxton.
