Hazel R. Coughenour, 91, of Gallipolis, Ohio passed away on Saturday, October 20, 2018 at the home of her daughter Jan Mills in Wellston, Ohio. Hazel was born on June 13, 1927 in Gallia County, Ohio, the daughter of the late Edward and Ella Cox Johnson. Hazel retired from the Federal Mogul Plant in Gallipolis and was a member of the New Life Church of God. She was married to Harry Junior Coughenour, II and he preceded her in death in 1996. Hazel was also preceded in death by a son Harry Junior Coughenour, III, a great grandson, Cameron Mikel Tackett; a daughter-in-law Millie Coughenour and by six brothers, Charlie, Carlan, Lester, Johnny, James and Russell Johnson. Hazel is survived by three daughters, Patricia Sims of Gallipolis, Jan (James) Mills of Wellston and Cathy Potter (Mark Scarberry) of Gallipolis and by four sons Harold (Rita) Coughenour, Mike Coughenour, and Keith (Linda) Coughenour all of Gallipolis and Denny (Sherry) Coughenour of Wellston; a daughter-in-law Faye Coughenour of Gallipolis; 17 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren, and 6 great great grandchildren. The funeral service for Hazel will be 1 p.m. Thursday, October 25, 2018 at Willis Funeral Home with Pastor Rick Towe officiating. Her burial will follow in Ohio Valley Memory Gardens.
