Helen Barton

Helen L. Barton, 92, of Grove City, Ohio, passed away on Thursday, July 24, 2025 at her residence.

Born on July 6, 1933 in Gallia County, Ohio, Helen was the daughter of the late Arthur and Mary Saunders Thevenin. Helen married Clarence Barton, Jr., who preceded her in death in 2004. She was an instructional aide for the Columbus City Schools before she retired.

Helen is survived by two daughters, Debbie Barton of Columbus, Ohio and Elizabeth L. Barton of Grove City, Ohio; one son, Mark (Guyla) Barton of Prospect, Kentucky; four granddaughters, Cindy Barton, Holly (Mike) Martin, Kelly Bush, and Samantha (Ben) Freeze; nine great grandchildren, Gene, Jacob, Ethan, Connor McKenna, Mollie, Maeve, Johanna, and Hank; and one great-great grandson, Gene III.

In addition to her parents and husband, Helen was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters.

A Graveside Service will be held for Helen at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, July 28, 2025 at Centenary Cemetery with Pastor Harold Benson officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Dolly Parton Imagination Library.
