Helen L. Bush

Helen L. Bush, 82, of Gallipolis, passed away on Sunday, December 20, 2015 at Overbrook Center, Middleport, Ohio. She was born May 22, 1933 in Gallipolis, daughter of the late Stanley B. and Elta Hall Folden. Helen was married to Gayland Bush on February 23, 1964 and he survives her. She was a 1951 graduate of GAHS and was the valedictorian of her class. She also had an Associates Degree from Ohio University. Helen was retired from Mason County Soil Conservation Service, Pt. Pleasant as a secretary. She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church. She was also involved with the High School Reunion Planning Committees. Surviving are her husband, Gayland Bush of Gallipolis; two daughters, Cynthia Merrifield of Houston, Texas and Vicky (Mark) Sheets of Bidwell; one son, Tim Bush of Baltimore, Ohio; four grandsons, Thomas Bush, Bryan Bush, Nicholas Sheets, Dylan Sheets; a sister, Wanda Folden Newport of Springfield, Ohio; a brother-in-law, Alan Burnett of Reynoldsburg, Ohio. In addition to her parents, Helen was preceded in death by her first husband, James Robert Merrifield Jr. in 1959 and a sister, Janice Folden Burnett. Services will be 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, December 23, 2015 at the Willis Funeral Home with Pastor Bill Thomas officiating. Burial will follow in Mound Hill Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday, December 22, 2015 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m.
