Helen L. Dennison Plants, 90, of Pt. Pleasant, West Virginia, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, December 5, 2025 at her residence. Helen was born on Valentine's Day, February 14, 1935 in White County, Tennessee, the daughter of the late William P. and Lillie Mae Hulsey Thompson.
Helen was a graduate of Old Mercerville High School, a member of Bellemead United Methodist Church in Pt. Pleasant, West Virginia where she had taught Sunday School, and a volunteer at PVH. She enjoyed traveling and was a friend to many. She often said "my friends are my treasures and I feel rich."
Helen is survived by two sons, Jeff (Cathy) Dennison of Bidwell, Ohio and Mike (Kim) Dennison of Mercerville, Ohio and one daughter, Andra Bailey of Mercerville; step children, Marketta (Larry) Crum of Henderson, West Virginia and Dorsol E. (Ditha) Plants II, of Milton, West Virginia; five grandchildren, Beth (Ricky) Wyant, Aaron Dennison, Katy Jo (John) Hager, Sara (Zac) LaRussa, and Jena Watson; seven step grandchildren, Larry (Amanda) Crum, Jr., Tiffany (Drew) Hussell, Heather (Dustin) Peaytt, Dorsol Plants III, Dominque (Amy) Plants, Shelby (Brandon) Trandai, and Carson (Harris) Taylor; six great-grandchildren, Joey Hager, Aiden Traylor, Raelynn Traylor, Dakotah Dennison, Harper Dennison, and Abby Jo Hager; ten step great-grandchildren, Peyton Crum, Adalina Crum, Aedan Hussell, Lily Plants, Phoebe Plants, Dexter Peaytt, Harrison Peaytt; Harper, Jace, and Carson Wyant; four sisters, Edna Gluth of Johnson City, Tennessee, Hettie Trout of Patriot, Ohio, Jeannie Gillott of Naples, Florida, and Margaret (Mike) Connaughton of Leesburg, Florida; her best friend Carol Wiley; and a host of other relatives and friends.
In addition to her parents, Helen was preceded in death by husbands, Gerald W. Dennison on September 26, 1992 and Dorsol E. Plants on March 28, 2000; two brothers, William Thompson, Jr. in infancy and Willie Joe Thompson; and a step-daughter, Cory Sievers.
The funeral service for Helen will be 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 10, 2025 at Willis Funeral Home with Pastor John Arnold officiating Her burial will follow in Ridgelawn Cemetery. Friends may call prior to the service on Wednesday from 11:00 a.m. until service time. Pallbearers will be Brent Gillott, Darren Gillott, Larry Crum, Jr., Joey Hager, Shawn Trout, and Aaron Dennison. Helen's family recognizes and gives thanks for Helen's caregivers and Hospice of Huntington.
