Henry Haskell Clagg, 80, departed this life March 11, 2007 at his residence. He was born May 3, 1926 in Gallia County, Ohio, son of Henry Edward and Jessie Mae Dewitt Clagg. Henry was a graduate of Gallia Academy High School. He was a member of Gallipolis First Church of the Nazarene and attended Elizabeth Chapel Church. Henry was a World War II Army veteran of the 529 Field Artillery Battalion. He was united in marriage February 19, 1995 to Dorothy Beaver who survives him. Besides his wife, Dorothy, he is survived by daughters, Sandra Kay Tim Falner of Mt. Sterling, KY and Martha Fay Charles Sigman of Columbus; stepchildren, John Carolyn Beaver of Gallipolis, Paul Beverly Beaver of Columbus, Janet David Hively, David Sherry Beaver, Thomas Shirley Beaver and Steven Carol Beaver, all of Gallipolis; three grandchildren, Van Edward Clagg, Henry Allen Clagg and Scott Timothy Falner; four great grandchildren; several step grandchildren; several step great grandchildren; and several step great great grandchildren; a brother Don Wealtha Clagg of Gallipolis; four sisters, Mary Urban Baldwin of Gallipolis, Clara Allen Blair of Circleville, Midge Evans of Gallipolis, and Bonnie Bonnette of Columbus. Preceding him in death are his parents, a daughter Linda May Clagg and brothers, Van Edward, Clarence Melvin, Shelby Franklin and John Clayton Clagg. Services will be 1:00 p.m., Thursday, March 15, 2007 at the Willis Funeral Home with Pastor Alfred Holley officiating. Burial will follow in Centenary Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday, March 14, 2007 from 6-8 p.m. There will be full military services at the graveside by volunteers of area veteran’s lodges. Pallbearers will be David Beaver, Van Clagg, Henry Allen Clagg, David Clagg, Luke Edwards, and Melvin Clagg.
