Ila Jeanette (Davis) Hineman,86, of Crown City, Ohio was born on October 17, 1931 in Ohio Twp. of Gallia County, Ohio. She departed this life of Thursday, May 10, 2018 at the Holzer Medical Center. She was the daughter of the late Dr. Walter S. and Rena (Lewis) Davis. On December 11, 1954 she was united in marriage to Clarence Norvin Hineman. This marriage was blessed with five children. Her husband preceded her in death on October 7, 1990. Left to mourn are her children, a daughter, Julia Plybon of Crown City, and four sons, Walter Dean (Shelba) Hineman and Joseph Hineman of Crown City, a son David (Kathy) Hineman of Pt. Pleasant, West Va., a son Chuck (Janelle) Hineman of Gallipolis, nine grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren, one brother Walter Meredith (Pat) Davis of Crown City; brother-in-law Kenneth Ours of Gallipolis, sister-in-law and brother-in-law Shirley (Bud) McMasters of Mt. Gilead, Ohio; also nieces, nephews, and other relative and friends. She was preceded by her parents, husband, two brothers Terrill (Dorothy) Davis of Alliance, Ohio, and Leo (Doris) Davis of Gallipolis, three sisters Valeda Iona (Bill) Lewis of Rio Grande, and Betty Jean (Bill) Friel of Louisville, Ohio, and Loueva Ours of Gallipolis. She enjoyed camping, crocheting, reading and writing and going to church. Ila was a graduate of Mercerville High School. She worked 1 year at Miles Laboratories, Elkhart, Ind., 1 year at OSU, Columbus, Ohio; 2 ½ years at Jackson Production Credit at Gallipolis; 27 years for the Gallia County School System as secretary at Hannan Trace High School and her last year at Southwestern High. She retired on June 26, 1992. Ila was a member of Victory Baptist Church were funeral services will be held on Monday, May 14, 2018 at 1 pm with Rev. Richard Unroe officiating. Burial will follow in Ridgelawn Cemetery. Friends may call on Sunday, May 13, 2018 at Willis Funeral Home from 4-6 pm.
