Iris A. Carter

Iris A. Carter, 61, of Gallipolis, Ohio, where she resided with her daughter and son-in-law, Brandy and Michael Long, who were her caretakers, passed away on Friday, October 17, 2025 at Holzer Medical Center in Gallipolis.

Born on January 16, 1964 in Columbus, Ohio, Iris was the daughter of the late Larry J. and Bonnie S. McClanahan Tickle. Iris enjoyed FaceTiming with her daughter to watch Kit Kat play. She enjoyed doing her daughters’ nails, and she loved to cook.

Iris is survived by her three daughters, Brenda (Michael) Baker of Amanda, Ohio, Barbara Herrel of Lancaster, Ohio, and Brandy (Michael) Long of Gallipolis, Ohio; one son, Justin Carter of Columbus, Ohio; grandchildren, Summer Herrel, Remington Baker, Carter Michael Baker grandson to be born in January 2026, Crue Carter, and Oakley Carter; and brother, Ted (Trish) Tickle of Waverly, Ohio.

In addition to her parents, Iris was preceded in death by her grandson, Bentley Long and brother, Steve Tickle.
