Jack E. Curry

Jack E. Curry, 79, of Vinton, passed away on Wednesday, August 16, 2006 at the Holzer Medical Center. He was born on March 17, 1927 to the late Polly Thorne. He was married to Joyce K. Curry and she survives him. Jack was a former Pomeroy jewelry store owner, a private security guard and he did maintenance. He was a member of Community Christian Fellowship. Surviving are his wife, Joyce K. Curry of Vinton; five sons, Eugene Nancy Curry of Dunlow, WV, Jerald Curry of Reynoldsburg, Robert Janice Curry of Racine, Dale Diana Curry of Parkersburg, WV, Jackie Yates of McArthur; two daughters, Susan Retzloff of Pomeroy and Mary Jane Curry of Rutland; one stepdaughter, Martha Hall of Pomeroy; one stepson, Jeffrey Todd Knotts of Northup; 12 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; 3 step grandchildren. Preceding him in death are his mother, Polly Thorne, his first wife, Darlene A. Curry, two sons, William and Timothy Curry, a daughter, Sally Curry and a stepson, Brian Knotts. Services will be Sunday, August 20, 2006 at 2 p.m. at the Willis Funeral Home with Rev. Elmer Geiser officiating. Burial will follow in Centenary Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 1-2 p.m., Sunday prior to the service. Pallbearers will be William Theiss, Bill Brown, Kermit Brown, Mark Jackson, Homer Bays, and Rick McDaniel.
