Jack Jeffers, 86, of Gallipolis, passed away on Sunday, August 5, 2012 at Arbors at Gallipolis. He was born June 6, 1926 in Gallia County, Ohio, son of the late Ralph Mercer and Nettie Finley Jeffers. Jack was married to Nina Sanders on February 9, 1958 in Gallia County, Ohio and she survives him. He was a World War II Navy veteran and was a welding superintendent for Babcock-Wilcox until his retirement. Jack was a 50 year member of the Masonic Lodge, was a member of Morning Dawn Lodge #7 and was initiated at the Eureka Lodge. Surviving are his wife, Nina Jeffers of Gallipolis; a son, Aaron (Jennifer) Jeffers of Holly Ridge, North Carolina; two daughters, Ellen (Rodney) VanNest of Gallipolis and Janell Hand of St. Petersburg, Florida; six grandchildren, Hayden, Seth, Zak and Cooper Flinner and Kendra and Haven VanNest; and one sister, Lenice (Calvin W.) Waugh of New Albany, Ohio. In addition to his parents, Jack was preceded in death by brothers, John J., Joe R., and Paul Jacob Jeffers, and a sister Ruth Julia Jeffers. Services will be 2:00 p.m., Friday, August 10, 2012 at the Willis Funeral Home with Chaplain Bob Hood officiating. Burial will follow at Providence Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday, August 9, 2012 from 6-8 p.m. Full military honors will be provided by volunteers of area veteran’s lodges. Pallbearers will be Rodney VanNest, Hayden Flinner, Gene Wood, Steve Caudill, Mark Weaver, Darren Clark. Honorary Pallbearers will be Seth Flinner, Roy Lane, Carl Sanders and Bob Roach.
