Jackie Willis Hunt, 57, Thurman, Ohio died Saturday, May 13, 2006 at the Holzer Medical Center after a long illness. He was born on November 6, 1948 in Endicott, Kentucky, the son of Thomas E. and Gladys Burchett Hunt. Jackie worked at the Kyger Creek Power Plant for twenty-nine years in the maintenance department. He was an US Army Vietnam War Veteran having earned a Purple Heart. He loved fishing, hunting and 4-wheeling with friends. Jackie is survived by his wife Martha Ann Luke Hunt, whom he married on July 1, 1971 in Pontiac, Michigan; two sons, Jackie Hunt of Thurman, and Kirk Hunt of Jackson, Ohio; his mother Gladys Hunt of Oneida, TN; four sisters, Joyce Del Russ of Vinton, Judy Larry Frazier of Naubinway, MI, Brenda Bob Morris of Oneida, TN, and Henrietta Don Holcomb of Vinton; 8 grandchildren, several nieces, nephew and great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, a brother and a sister. Services will be 1 PM Wednesday, May 17, 2006 at Willis Funeral Home with Rev. Alfred Holley officiating. Burial will follow in the Old Pine Cemetery. Friends may call on Tuesday, May 16, 2006 from 6-8 PM at Willis Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Danny Miller, Robert Roush, Kevin Young, Jack Hunt, Pat Canaday, and Bill Stewart. Honorary Pallbearers will be Kirk Hunt, Del Russ, and Scott Donley. There will military graveside rites at the cemetery by volunteers of area veteran lodges. In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to the American Lung or Heart Association in memory of Jackie Willis Hunt.
